About the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association

Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA)-Sudbury Branch is a consumer based non-profit organization that is run by and for persons who are hard of hearing.

A group of people served by the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association

The Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA) was organized in 1982 to meet a need not addressed by any other organization. It is the only national voice of hard of hearing people in Canada. CHHA provides a vehicle for hard of hearing and deafened people to make their needs known, and to work at ensuring that those needs are identified and addressed.

The CHHA, Sudbury Branch received its charter in 1988. Initially formed as a grassroots self-help group, the branch has grown steadily over the years and has made significant progress. Today, the Sudbury Branch of the association is an incorporated registered charity and offers numerous programs and services to people with hearing loss across North Eastern Ontario.
