Canadian Hard of Hearing Association: Sudbury Chapter

What is CHHA?

The voice for all hard of hearing people in Sudbury & North Eastern Ontario

Canadian Hard of Hearing Association (CHHA)-Sudbury Branch is a consumer based non-profit charitable organization that is run by and for persons who are hard of hearing.

Services & Programs

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive listening devices can play a major role in managing and living with hearing loss.  Many individuals with hearing loss find their hearing aids and/or cochlear implants alone are not enough.  Using assistive listening technology along with hearing aids and cochlear implants can greatly enrich one’s life.

Living With Hearing Loss

The Sudbury Branch offers a number of workshops and presentations in Sudbury and across North Eastern Ontario.  These workshops are designed to help people with hearing loss become more informed about hearing loss, how to live, work and cope with it.  They are also a wonderful resource for family and friends of those with hearing loss.

Speech Reading Classes

Do you wear hearing aids or a cochlear implant and still struggle to communicate?  Contrary to what many people think, hearing aids, cochlear implants and other assistive listening technology do not restore hearing to a normal range of hearing in the same way that lenses correct vision.

Living with Tinnitus

Although there is no cure for tinnitus, in somecases, tinnitus can be managed.  CHHA-Sudbury Branch’s ‘Living with Tinnitus’ workshops covers some of the possible causes and triggers of tinnitus while also reviewing some of the management options including conventional and alternative treatments currently available.

CHHA Support

CHHA-Sudbury Branch is pleased to offer a number of programs and services at no charge.

Currently, the Sudbury Branch receives no government funding. All of our supports and services are available thanks predominantly to proceeds from the Ultimate Dream Home Draw as well as private donations and bequests.
